Michelle DeSelle
Client Development Manager
My name is Michelle DeSelle. I am a twenty -year public speaker, Professor, journalist, and author. A native Houstonian and one of the most positive and upbeat people you will ever meet. I developed a love for all forms of communications; and later studied and obtained a BA in broadcast journalism and a MA in communication from Texas Southern University and later my Ph.D. I am also a dynamic journalist and is a free-lance reporter for several municipalities throughout Texas and served as the voice for Missouri City Television. I have been bestowed with many honors, most notably is the Stellar Communicators Award for my contribution to the field of communication from Texas Southern University. My passion for communication is also manifested in the classroom as I became a Professor of Speech Communication at my beloved alma mater Texas Southern University and at Prairie View A&M University where I taught Speech Communication, Visual Communication, Screen Writing and Public Speaking.
I’m an author for Kendall Hunt Publishing’s higher education division, her book “The Speech I Teach Public Speaking for Today’s Students was adopted by Prairie View A&M University’s Language and Communication Department and students are thriving from the knowledge of her insightful research. I was also chosen for the “Author Spotlight” honor as well by Kendall Hunt for her dynamic contribution to Public Speaking. My accomplishments are also the highlight of my hometown of Lufkin Texas with features in their newspaper’s education section. I also served as instructional coach for new faculty and oratory trainer for the University’s Presidential Lecture Series; my work concerns the creation, analysis, and critique of messages. It is here where my research and teachings devote particular attention to understanding the ways in which communication erodes and sustains collaboration within and among local, national, and global communities.
